Fiesta Sport van

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

EDIT: specs.

https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/2018-ford-fiesta-van-launched-st-line-inspired-top-model

The van is based on the new Fiesta hatchback but foregoes its rear seats to create a loading space of one cubic metre. It also features altered rear suspension to carry up to 500kg of cargo – that’s 160kg fewer than the Transit Courier that sits above it in Ford’s commercial vehicle range.

The Fiesta Sport Van mixes the practicality of a van with ST-Line features. It gets bumpers, 18in wheels and a rear spoiler taken straight from the standard Fiesta ST-Line, while the interior also has a pair of bolstered sports seats.

Power comes from a choice of three engines. Two are petrol-powered; the first is a naturally aspirated 1.1-litre unit offering 84bhp and the second a turbocharged 1.0-litre Ecoboost engine with 123bhp. The third powerplant is a 1.5-litre TDCi unit available in two power outputs: 84bhp and 118bhp

No ST (as with the current Fiesta van) but the above is inspired on the ST-Line. So a regular Fiesta with ST body kit/styling.

no doubt someone will do a conversion fairly quickly then.

I don’t think the Super Duty is about needing space, it’s more about showing off, ‘bigger is better, more power, I’m looking down on you, yadda yadda yadda’. ;)

Buy an ST and put a wall behind the drivers seat, among other minors things and bam, ST Van.

At least here in the U.K., certainly.

I mean Severn Valley Motorsport made a 1,100bhp QashQai R

Then did similar to the Navara.

800+ horsepower Navara.

Apparently the ST van has been done, I just can’t find any decent pics.

Well as the U.S. won’t be getting the Fiesta anyway, it’s all mute really.

But they could always reverse engineer it like they do with the Ford Transit Connect.

Rip the seats out, replace the window with a panel, , put down a new floor and add a bulkhead, uprate the rear suspension, etc... job done.

I think that might make it too expensive

it would add cost but I dare say minimal as they could upgrade the rear suspension back at source then the rest is Transit Connect altering on a smaller scale.

With the Connect they replace the glass with panelling, the seats are removed and sent for recycling, remove the carpet and panel the floor.

I recall they wanted or tried to because the vehicles would come off the ship and straight into a warehouse on the dockside and they’d do the conversions. Think it got dropped as the vehicles were fully working people movers and all the work to convert them was done in house to vans, but not sure.

I’m still vague on the outcome but they are still importing them and will even be importing the new face lifted Connect.

I was wondering how they were going to mix the ass-bashing sports suspension of a FieSTa with cargo transit. Assuming this was designed by committee.

Simply a Fiesta van with uprated rear suspension for commercial usage.

They’ve been around for generations and other manufacturers do it to such as Vauxhall.

Take a regular Corsa van

Add body kit to make a sporty looking version.

That’ll do it. (M-Sport are just down the road from me. I’ve got to stop telling people that on here. Lol).

I know the body kit and parts (ie seats, decals, speedo cluster, etc...) is £6,000 on the Transit Custom M-Sport.

Can I just get a utility-friendly cargo area, but WITHOUT the massive blind spots though?

The ‘blind spots’ are no more so than any other van.

You may as well just get a three door and take the rear seat back and base out, panel it.

But the idea of the small panel van is commercial tax and insurance is different to a regular vehicle and claim the tax bank on it when registered as a company vehicle.

The the Land Rover Discovery Commercial.

Yeah I’m just jealous that commercial/fleet vehicles seem to be the only ones that take cargo areas seriously, using hard-wearing materials and patterns. Carpet is ridiculously overrated. It’s a pet peeve of mine, but not enough so that I’d want to go full panel-van with window deletes and front cage.

There are companies out there that can provide the stuff you are wanting but regular people don’t need such heavy duty stuff, it’d also add a considerable amount to the manufacture of each vehicle.

I was tempted to get a hard wearing mat for Piglet. But even with the amount of stuff that gets thrown into the boot on a daily basis, I just don’t need anything heavy duty as the current flooring is up to the job.

I dunno about it being that much more expensive. My truck is the first vehicle I’ve owned with a vinyl floor instead of carpet, and I love it. If it ever wears through, I can get a new vinyl floor through LMC Truck for about $180. Their price for molded carpet instead? $175.

Cars turned into vans are my absolute fetish, for reasons I can’t describe. Unfortunately this Fiesta is the only thing stopping the Supermini van from going extinct, as Vauxhall/Opel have just announced they’re going to be killing the Corsavan due to them ditching diesels.

Kinja'd!!!

I hat it when the panels are blacked. Yes the fact people have no idea it’s a van is the main selling point, and I’m not saying people shouldn’t, but personally it should have panels.

Kinja'd!!!

Show of your van!

Also it should have 3 doors if possible, over 5 door.

Kinja'd!!!

Interestingly the Up! has my favourite and least favourite type of a van based on car types depending on the country.

Kinja'd!!!

Although the website says they don’t sell the Up! van in the UK, i’ve seen a couple RHD ones.
